A Moment of Serenity

10/16/2005 - 4:20 PM

Oh...forgot one thing earlier. Serenity was AMAZING! We went to go see it last night, after a great dinner at Hacienda Colorado. Date night was REALLY GOOD. Add to that a little late night delight before bed, and I slept like a baby.

Seriously, though...Serenity played as well as a Western as it did as a Science Fiction epic. The characters actually MATTERED to you, and the storyline was about as believeable as a sci-fi plot can be. You really gave a damn about what happened to the characters. And the underlying themes...classic. Joss Whedon even got a dig or two in on the so-called "masters" of the genre, who seem to have lost their ways. Brilliant...there won't be a sequel, based on the box office figures, but I sure wish there was.
